Meet Elektro

Westinghouse introduced Elektro the robot to Earth at the 1939 World's Fair in New York. He stood 7 feet high and had a booming voice. Though he may seem scary, Elektro was really just a hunk of hollow tin on wheels. Oh, and that brain he claimed was "bigger than yours" consisted of only 40 circuits. Still, you can help but be impressed by the metal beast. I mean, the robot could smoke!

This big guy must have had the 1939 public peeing their pants. While Elektro didn't last through the ages, (he died out around the 1960s) I can't help but be reminded this more petite model by Honda.

The great robot take-over could still happen...
